Nature Station
Located on the Italian border, Valfréjus is a “nature” village resort perfectly integrated into its environment. Lauze chalets, pine and larch forest, breathtaking landscapes and a high-altitude ski area (1,200 m vertical drop to Punta Bagna, its summit at 2,737 m) appeal to skiers.
Nature reigns supreme: opposite Parc de la Vanoise, between Thabor and Punta Bagna, the resort is close to Italy.
The Natura 2000 site of Mont Thabor is located in 3 communes of Savoie: Modane, Orelle and Valmeinier. It is located on the northern slopes of Mont Thabor (Savoie) and ranges from 1,800 to 3,200 meters above sea level, with the highest points being Pic du Thabor (3207 m) and Mont Thabor (3178 m).
It invites you to come and breathe deeply the invigorating air of its natural area where flora and fauna combine wonderfully.
The mind pioneer
Opened in 1983, Valfréjus is one of the youngest resorts in France. In the shade of the tip of Fréjus, the resort located at an altitude of 1,550 m is surrounded by a larch forest and offers its holidaymakers a haven of peace. The ideal place for a family vacation to discover the mountain and its activities.
At the forefront of new snow sports, this is where skwal and speed riding were invented. It owes its name to the Franco-Italian massif of Fréjus.
The Valfréjus ski area (1550m - 2737m)
Savoyard resort on a human scale, in the heart of the Maurienne region and facing the Vanoise National Park, Valfréjus has everything a great one: a sloping ski area while preserving beginners' areas; modern and fast ski lifts.
With 70 km of slopes, spread over 24 slopes including 11 blue, 3 green, and 80 snowfalls to compensate for the vagaries of the weather, Valfréjus is perfect for your family ski week. You will love the long and wide slopes for beginners and families as well as the quiet walks in the forest.
The ski lifts are efficient and comfortable: in less than 15 minutes, you go from an altitude of 1,550 meters to the top of the slopes at 2,737 meters. The joint pass with La Norma allows unlimited access to 135 km of slopes + access to the Haute Maurienne Vanoise area (1 day free in one of the 4 other resorts: Aussois, Valcenis, Bonneval-sur-Arc, Bessans) for 6 and 7 day ski passes.
The easy access to the 3 Valleys area via Orelle (18km away) will also delight some.
In addition to the snow cannons, snow is usually abundant throughout the winter season thanks to a geographical location favorable to the famous "returns from the East" which frequently bring large amounts of snow to the Italian border.
Fans of virgin spaces will appreciate this starting point for ski touring towards the Thabor massif, Cerces and the Clarée valley.
Family resort
Your toddlers can be taken care of at the Bébé Club Les Diablotins daycare from 3 months old and up to 6 years old. Please note, reservations are strongly recommended, places are limited. From 3 years old, they can learn to ski and make their first slides and snowplows accompanied by ESF or ESI instructors.
For a moment of fun and adventure, the Kid Park awaits your children !! It is a fun area located on the Plateau d'Arrondaz, where children and parents meet between slides and snow games in a giant snow castle and a turnstile.
Lovers of sliding and speed, meet at Bob Park, a toboggan run with banked turns, tunnels, a western atmosphere which is open at night some evenings and depending on snow conditions.
The whole family can get together at the end of the afternoon and enjoy the rich entertainment program or the natural ice rink, located in the heart of the resort. It is open every day until the ice melts.
Valfréjus in summer
Valfréjus offers a multitude of hiking trails to the Thabor massif, the Seuil, the Hautes-Alpes and Italy. Valfréjus is also on the GR5 route, which goes as far as Nice, and on the heights of the resort you can already feel a little southerly air.
In Valfréjus, nature reigns supreme, the wide open spaces are close to nearby Italy and there are countless family walks. The center of the resort is transformed in summer into a large space dedicated to entertainment and activities for all. Children will enjoy the Ludoparc and the Parc Accro ludique specially designed for them in the heart of the resort, the playgrounds and all the programmed activities. They can enjoy it a few meters from your balcony!
